Timing Belts

When should a timing belt be serviced?

It’s important to replace your timing belt at the mileage intervals your vehicle manufacturer recommends. Every manufacturer is different, but typically, it needs to be replaced every 60,000–100,000 miles. The recommended interval for your specific vehicle can be found in your car’s owner’s manual.

The repair history of your vehicle can provide insight into the condition of your timing belt. If your vehicle is 6 to 10 years old and the timing belt has never been serviced a visit to Compass Auto Works to have the timing belt replaced could save unnecessary damage to your engine.

Brake Service

Brake servicing is one of the necessary maintenance needs you cannot ignore. Unlike other vehicle maintenance requirements, failing brakes can be the difference between life and death.

A vehicle’s brakes have a life span, so it is important you have your brakes examined by a professional mechanic to identify signs of wear-and-tear and get them serviced by the professionals if the need arises. You may be asking yourself, “How will I know if I need to have my brakes checked”?

Here are five major signs you need brake service:

1. You hear a squealing noise when NOT hitting the brakes.
2. You hear a clicking noise.
3. Bringing the car to a stop takes more time than it used to.
4. The nose of your car pulls to one side when you brake.
5. The brake pedal vibrates when pressed.

When in doubt take the vehicle in to be looked at it could save a life.

Transmission Service

Using the latest in state-of-the-art technology, we will install a safe and effective cleaner to suspend harmful varnish and sludge from the transmission valve body, torque converter and lines and install new high-tech fluid with conditioners.
